| At 91, Les Joy is still keen to share his incredible experience as a WWII Lancaster Bomber Pilot. His story is available both as an ebook and an audiobook and is described by readers as 'truly inspiring'. Les took some time out to tell us a little bit more about himself and about what inspired the book. About the Author, by the Author Les Joy Home Town: Bradford, Yorkshire Now 91 years old, I live in Sutton in Craven, near the "Yorkshire Dales". I'm a Member of the Local Parish Council, plus two other Community Committees and the local art club. What inspired you to write? I was invited to visit RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire and sit again in the cockpit of one of the two remaining Lancaster Bombers in the world still capable of flying (the other one is in Canada). This brought back vivid memories of many wartime experiences which had lain dormant for many years. What is the book about? Some of my experiences during World War II. Why should I read/listen to it? There are very few of us left who experienced this first hand involvement in the trauma of total war. You can buy the ebook of The Diary of a RAF Lancaster Bomber here: Amazon iTunes Kobo Or if you fancy listening to Les' amazing story, visit: Audible |
