The Magic Glasses
Without Thomas’s glasses would the legend still be in darkness? Or have people been blinded by ignorance and can’t see the obvious? Thomas has moved to a small village to live with his grandparents, and also to start a new school. Thomas’s teacher, Mr Crackelbone notices that Thomas’s reading skills don’t match his previous school record! After getting glasses it becomes apparent that Thomas can ‘see’ things others cannot, and so the adventure begins - from school friends eager to learn his secret, to the adults who wish they could ‘see’ what he sees.

Recently, we have published our second book by Lex Sinclair, you may have read his first book: Nobody Goes There, about a creature who feeds off the flesh of the living. However, since then, we have published Sinclair's new book: The Lord of Darkness. You can find all the links to buy the book at the bottom of this post.

About the Book
The Lord of Darkness is the story of James Baldwin, a horror and dark fantasy author, desperate to write a great story. James is visited by a mysterious yellow-eyed character of another world. This eBook takes you on a journey with James, who is offered something he can't refuse.

Here's what the author says:

'What would you do to become a bestselling author? Would there be any limit to your obsession to get what you desperately craved?

James Baldwin, a thirty-five year old writer of horror and dark fantasy fiction, finds himself in an awkward situation when he hastily resigns from his regular job to pursue his dream to become an international bestseller, after having two, well-received novels published and sold out with a small press publisher.

Then a tall, disfigured man dressed all in black wearing a false yellow eye arrives unexpectedly one cold winter night at his residence carrying an antique box which he claims contains the answers to James’ problems. He makes James an offer he can’t refuse. However, the mysterious stranger - who is not a man but something not of this world - only reveals the true nature of the contract he has made James sign that will tear his soul apart and devour his mind and integrity, until he is merely an empty shell.

Secrets from the past are revealed between Ivor (James’ father) and the stranger, which link James to both in more ways he can imagine. A mistake repeated by a father and a son’s desires with dire and irrevocable consequences.
Aware of his fate, James decides to do what he does best and uses his popular pseudonym in the world of literature to reveal the true identity of his new-self.

In a shocking finale, Ivor does the only thing left to do to save the unsuspecting world of a ghastly entity that uses a mortal’s deception and temptation to achieve immortality.'

Last week we published Julia Douglas' romance novel that has a touch of 50's vintage. Polka Dot Dreams follows the life of Natty who is returning home after not quite making it in the big city. She meets Matt, the caring, loveable Ice-Cream Parlour-owning man, who seems perfect...at first. Polka Dot Dreams is a great story with a musical twist and you'll love it if you've read Douglas' other novels too.

About the Book

Natty loves vintage clothes and fabulous 50s music. When she meets Matt, who runs a rock’n’roll-themed ice cream parlour, she thinks she’s found her perfect man. But Matt’s life is rather complicated - will Natty’s head be turned by Cameron, the mysterious Scottish Teddy Boy who promises to make her a singing sensation? Natty finds an ally in Matt’s mum, the flamboyant seaside landlady Margie. But can she find an old fashioned love in this rock’n’roll romance?
